Botox: Not Just for Fuller Cheeks

For men struggling with early ejaculation, exploring different treatments can be the difference between trying to treat the chronic condition and finally finding something that

works. Having a sense of adventure when it comes to treatment options can help, but when it comes to some treatments most men think twice.

Recently, Botox has been put forward as a new treatment for chronic early ejaculation. Although most commonly associated with cosmetic procedures, the Botox injection has been used for problems like migraines and depression for a number of years. Now doctors have reported it has been a successful form of treatment for premature ejaculation, the most common form of sexual dysfunction in men all around the world.

According to the clinical study results of some of their research, the treatment has been found to be successful for men after a number of treatments and there have been no serious safety concerns over the use of the drug. At the same time, the procedure itself is a bit daunting and there are some associated side effects similarly to what exists for patients using it for traditional procedures have found.

Botox is an injected treatment and, yes, that means you’d have to be willing to have a shot delivered right into your penis. The injection is usually delivered on the lower part of the penis, sometimes near the perineum, though the specific site must be determined based on the patient. Obviously, this can be a painful location for an injection but the long term benefits have been driving many men to give it a try.

Secondly, there are the normal side effects associated with the use of Botox. These include pain at the injection site, rash, itching. Stiffness and swelling. More serious side effects like weakness, bruising, bleeding and fever are less likely but important to note especially if you’ve never had it done before. Be sure to go over all the potential side effects before any initial treatment so that you know what to look for.

The long term effects of the treatment are what really matters to many men and those have been impressive though trials are still very early. The NHS in the United Kingdom has been funding a long term trial though the results are still pending, but initial trials here in the US have been positive. And there are already many men ready, willing and able to take the risk.

So will Botox become the next big thing when it comes to treating early ejaculation? It’s been used for the past few years and its popularity does appear to be growing, but it’s not likely to become as common as the other uses for Botox if only because of how it needs to be delivered. Having an injection in that area is enough to put many people off and so it is usually reserved for severe cases where other treatment options have been tried and ultimately exhausted.

Still, this new approach to treating early ejaculation shows that companies are doing all they can to find new, innovative and effective treatments for this common and troubling condition. With more and more men suffering from the issue there is plenty of motivation for businesses to seek out new treatments and new options.

Botox may not become the next big thing in terms of sexual dysfunction treatment but it’s sure to change the landscape of treatment options. As men prove they are willing to go to great lengths in order to resolve the issue, more and more companies will pour money and time into research and development, ultimately giving men more options than ever before when it comes to taking control of their sexual health.
