Why Premature Ejaculation Could Be Doing More than Just Ruining Your Sex Life

Premature ejaculation is something that impacts men all over the world. It’s damaging. It’s destructive. And it’s both damaging and destructive in physical and mental manners. The major effect is, of course, on an individual’s sex life, but there are other impacts that are much more far reaching and potentially more damaging than what can occur within the bedroom. There are things that men can do about this, though.

Premature Ejaculation at a Glance

Premature ejaculation coupleAt a glance, premature ejaculation is something that will affect the large majority of men at some point during their lives. Premature ejaculation is diagnosed in a number of different ways, but the most obvious way is in how quickly the man ejaculates. Sexual intercourse, on average, will only last for about five minutes. If the man can’t prevent himself from ejaculating within one minute of penetration on a regular basis then the chances are they have a problem with premature ejaculation.

Take note that nearly every man will experience this at least once during their lives. If it happens less than 50% of the time then it’s most likely not a medical issue.

Physical Issues

This sort of disorder is something that ruins sex. It’s true that males will still often get the pleasure they want no matter when they happen to ejaculate, but the partner rarely will make orgasm during this time. For people who suffer from this problem severely they may not even get to having sex at all because it can be so serious that they ejaculate before they are able to achieve vaginal penetration.

Physically, if the male is ejaculating too early then their own orgasms may be losing the level of pleasure that they are looking for. This is because if the amount of sexual tension is allowed to build up then the orgasm is going to be something that’s considerably more intense. It follows the same principle of men who masturbate more get less pleasure after each individual orgasm.

Broken Relationships

Broken relationships are the most common feature of this sort of problem for men. If the person is trying to have sex but they are having these issues then it’s unlikely that their partner is going to put up with it. If they can’t be pleasured then it’s unlikely that the relationship can continue because for many people sex is the most sacred expression of love in a relationship.

There have been relationships, however, that have continued on regardless of premature ejaculation, but many of these relationships are on occasions where the state of the disorder is secondary, in other words it’s acquired and they have probably been able to have satisfying sex before. Couples can often work past this. Relationships in their early growth stages, though, are a different issue entirely.

Depression

Depression due to Premature EjaculationSomething that’s often seen amongst men who possess these issues is depression. It, of course, only occurs after a significant period of time of trying to overcome the situation, but it does happen. Depression will often stem from excessive anxiety and a feeling of failure. Producing children, having a meaningful relationship with another human being, and expressing love and passion through sex are what many men will put at the centre of their worlds. If they are unable to do this then it’s going to start playing on their minds, with devastating mental consequences.

Individuals who have friends who are able to do what they can’t, and especially friends who ridicule them, are some of the most common causes of depression. Once depression has been reached its then two issues that have been created from one, and then it’s up to a medical professional to step in.

What Can Be Done

To deal with premature ejaculation alone there are pills that can help with it. They may not cure it, as this depends entirely on the type of disorder that’s present, but they can suppress the urge to ejaculate prematurely. The pills that work are safe and don’t cause any side effects, and the ones that do should be avoided.

If any additional mental issues have been generated as a result of these issues then a doctor may need to be sought-out, especially in the case of stress, anxiety, and depression.
